Increasingly highways and planning authorities require for design proposals to be Audited, to meet regulatory requirements and to demonstrate a “thoroughness” to the design process.
Road Safety Audits come in four stages
Road Safety Audit Stage 1 – Preliminary Design (prior to planning application)
Road Safety Audit Stage 2 – Detailed Design
Road Safety Audit Stage 3 – Completion and prior to opening
Road Safety Audit Stage 4 – Post opening up to 12 months.
All stages require experienced and skilled audit team members, which HMTC has in its organisation. Audits are carried out to the requirements of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) in the UK and the Manual for Manx Roads – (MfMR) for Isle of Man projects.
